Its that time of year when the coldness of winter has got you by your shirt tails and you’re wandering around the house trying to decide what to do with yourself. You’re snowbound and maybe the best thing that you can do is to sit in front of the fire and drink your steaming mug of hot chocolate whilst staring broodingly out of the window. The only problem with that idea is, you’ve already done it, several times, and there’s only so much you can take of hot chocolate and brooding. You’re ready for something different. So you turn to the only other solace you have and switch on the TV. You’re instantly riveted to your seat as you come across one of those endless shows telling you how you can jazz up your home. Things have got to the stage where you find yourself held in thrall by something that you would have totally dismissed earlier in the year and even rush out of your seat to fetch a pencil and notebook to jot down your favourite ideas. The cracks in the odd wall, the faint spot of mildew in the bathroom, the chipping paint on many of the walls. The list is endless and could on for miles. The list naturally spans more than you really want to think about so you decide to stop there. It’s more than your arm is worth to continue writing, besides you already have all the pertinent facts at your fingertips, so now you need to sort through them to create directions that you can easily follow as you start your project.

No easy task that, when your decorating ideas, interior designs and room-by-room floor plan is all jumbled into one major pile. How better to resolve this than the tried and true age-old method of sitting on the floor and surrounding yourself with your notes in an attempt at some order.

When you finally reach that much desired state of orderliness you can allow yourself to sit back with a tired but satisfied smile on your face. Content in the knowledge that you’ll now have enough decorating ideas, interior design plans and activity on your hands during the long hard months of winter, to keep you from fretting. Of course it also helps that you now know that come springtime, your home is going to look like new.
